Day 7, Burneside to Bowness on Windermere, 9.9 miles, 2.06 miles/hour. This is our last day on the trail, where we walk through Lake District National Park. The signage isn’t quite as straightforward as it was in Yorkshire National Park. It was a bit wet today, but not rainy, and very pleasant for walking. I like this bit of trail heading toward Bowness. We follow the River Kent for a few sections and the wooded area at the end is calming. Coming to the Bench was bittersweet, and while elated with the experience, we were also quite melancholy for it to be over. We got a lot of recommendations for our next adventure from the amazing people we met along The Way. Thank you all!
The Ramblers Association is a charity that supports walking in Britain. Their guidebooks were immensely helpful in 1997 in the early-internet era.
